Your safety is our number 1 prioirity for Covid 19
COVID-19 Safety Measures
In light of the current situation, we’re all facing due to the outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), we’ve implemented a number of safety measures at Dry Green. Nothing is more important to us than the health and safety of our customers and our employees.
To help us to do our bit to prevent the spread of Coronavirus, we ask that:
✔ Any customer or household that has had a confirmed case of the virus does not place an order for at least 5 days post-recovery
✔ Customers who test positive for the virus, and have had a collection or delivery within 10 days, notify our customer care team so that we can take the appropriate precautions
The steps we are taking:
Hygiene
Our drivers and our professional cleaners handling your items are:
✔ Continuing to regularly wash and sanitise their hands, and making a concerted effort to only touch/handle items as necessary
✔ Advised to check their temperature before starting each day
✔ Wearing protective gloves and face masks and disposing of them
✔ Safely disposing of any used cleaning materials
And, as per recent Government advice, any of our employees who are showing any symptoms of COVID-19 will be instructed to self-isolate immediately.
Changes to our service
✔ Contactless Collection: When placing an order you can opt for a “contactless collection”, by adding instructions in the box labelled “delivery notes”. This could be to call you and leave the items on your front step, or to leave the items in a safe place such as with a concierge or reception team. Where possible, our drivers will follow these instructions. Please note that Dry Green will not take responsibility for any lost or stolen items where written instructions have been followed.
✔Launch of our new Website and App: We have been working hard through this unprecedented period to offer our customers an improved ordering and payment experience. All bookings are now handled through our state of the art website and app including all your payments over our secure payment gateway.✔ High-temperature cleaning: should you wish to request any items to be cleaned at a higher temperature than usual (30 degrees), please send us your request by adding instructions in the box labelled “cleaning instructions” and we will do our best to accommodate this. If there are any issues, a member of our customer care team will contact you directly. Please note that generally all bedding, towels and duvets are cleaned at 60 degrees.
✔Bagged Garments: We are asking that all garments are handed to, or left for, our delivery drivers in a suitable bag. We will not accept any loose garments. We are currently awaiting a delivery of re-usable, recycled, breathable garment covers and laundry bags. We will be making these available at cost price to our loyal customer base. These will act as a bag for life and will help protect us, your clothes and the environment long term.
✔Turnaround time: We are asking all customers to offer us an extended turnaround period so we can allow all bagged garments a time frame before we handle them. Please be assured that we will still be working to your request and if you need your garments back urgently we will still accommodate this.
Does cleaning ‘kill’ the virus?
According to the latest NHS information, “normal washing of clothes will reduce the risk of germs being transmitted”.
Commercial laundry and dry cleaning is not a “normal” process
The extreme temperatures of steam pressing clothes using commercial machinery is proven to kill germs, allergens and bacteria. Flu viruses are killed by heat above 167F. Our steaming process heats garments to between 248F and 302F.
Our laundry cleaning products are supplied by Kreussler, a leading German textile specialist. Their cleaning products are used extensively within the NHS and hospital laundry globally. All our pre-programmed cleaning cycles have a coloursafe bleach injection for increased stain removal and disinfection. All of our detergents and detergent auxiliaries are highly concentrated, extremely effective and do not contain ecologically harmful ingredients.
Dry cleaning is one of the best ways to kill virus molecules. The cleaning process exposes garments to a prolonged drying step at high temperatures ranging from 175F to 195F.
Whilst we cannot guarantee 100% protection we will continue to monitor the latest NHS and government advice. In addition, we will continue to adapt our procedures going forward to ensure we are following the most up to date advice possible.
A little peace of mind
We never have, and never will mix peoples laundry loads. Each customer’s laundry loads are washed and dried individually.
Collection and deliveries
✔ The NHS has also said that the risk of transmission from packages is minimal, and are advocating the usage of delivery services for those in self-isolation.
For now, it is business as usual with our undivided focus on keeping our customers and employees safe. As always our Customer Care Team is available to answer any questions you may have.
